The Healthy Stress Doctor podcast is your gateway to conquering your stress. The show, hosted by Dr. Richard Blonna, is based on his new book and relaxation CD, called Seven Weeks to Conquering Your Stress. The show, book, and CD are based on the premise that everyone is unique when it comes to stress; what stresses one person out might challenge another. Dr. Blonna will show you that stressors are really just “potential stressors” until you feel threatened by or unable to cope with them. He developed the Five R’s of Coping Model to help you do two things; accurately judge the threat posed by your potential stressors and increase your ability to cope with them. The model consists of five groups of strategies (called levels of defense) for understanding and coping with stressors. The first six podcasts in this show give you a quick overview of the model and the five R’s, – Reorganize, Relax, Release, Rethink, and Reduce.
